A
Happy Memory Note from Stacey
Thank you to all dancers, your families, and friends that
participated in the Showcase Friday night. You were all so prepared and
looked great on stage and off. The fans (both mechanical and human)
arrived in force for our hot evening.
Yes, it was a hot show in more ways than one.
Thank you to Bobbe, Deborah, and Marie for the extra
fans. Thank you Tim & Heather for welcoming our
guests and running the raffle. Thank you Jordan for scooping up sweet
treats for all. Thank you Meenal and Deborah for the beautiful flowers.
Thank you Andrew Cooper for helping start our music. Thank you Janaya,
Jordan, Austin, Stacy, Sarah, and Mark for arriving early to set up.
Thank you Sarah, Deborah, Bobbe, Sheri, Janaya, and Deanna
for staying late to clean up. There are so many more thank you's,
I know I have missed many so please know how
much you are all appreciated.
Video tapes of
the showcase evening are available.
Thanks to the wonderful
volunteer video recording by Pete Melin. Thank
you Pete! If you would like a copy please let me know.
A $5.00 donation is appreciated for the
food share or the Gregory Hines Foundation.

Dance a New Day
By
Sarah Katreen Hoggatt
From Australia to Africa
we’ve learned how to swing,
Zipadeed-doodahed to that
zodiac ring.
The clock has been
rockin’ with a peppermint twist,
The spiders are hoppin’,
how cute can you get?
Improving a riot, to
dance from within,
Laughing with partners,
learning show-grin.
And though all the beats
are no longer there,
We remember brave Bailey
and Ophelia the fair.
We dance to Chicago, we
dazzle in red,
Collecting our food,
donating our bread.
For it is not to
ourselves alone are we born,
We’re steppin’ out with
our baby for the diseased and the worn.
Though we’re working on
turns, love to tap to Broadway,
We’re all here to live-
To love-
And dance-
A new day.

Note: After the pictures load, there will be three that will take
a little longer as they are actually videos.
When the page is first loaded,
they will show as blue squares, simply run your mouse over the box and
the video will appear. After the first time, the video
will be still like a picture. Simply run your mouse over it
again any time you want to see it and the video will
repeat twice. |
