  On Tap Showcase 2008

Showcase 2008, did we have fun or what!  All around it was a wonderful day in the ON TAP neighborhood Saturday, May 31. Thank you to all dancers, family, and friends that shuffled to the showcase. I hope you all had the fun and good times you so deserve. I was sooo proud of all the dancers. On time. Costumes fresh and perfect. Helping always. Dancing AND Smiling. There for the “whole deal”. I am so appreciative for all the help from the minute the doors opened until the last light was shut off. You are all such an inspiration for all of what is right with the world.

Thank you for the beautiful flowers. They are a reflection of all your beautiful smiling faces. Thanks to Ginny Hollon for watching out for all of us. Thanks to Anna and Casey Braun for tending to the zoo dishes, décor, and ushering. Thanks to Deborah Barber for being our “raffleer” and chief quilt hanger (along with Sarah, Danica, and Sheri) . Thanks to Tim McCready for hanging the piñata. Thanks to Alisse McCready and Martha Pynch for helping with costumes. Thanks to Wendy Collins & Theresa Erickson for taking pictures. Thanks to Bobbe Priddy and Sarah Hoggatt for helping till the sun went down. Thank you to all who came early to set up, brought yummy food to share, shim sham shimmied, and danced their hearts out. You all should be very proud of yourselves. I look forward to the next time we are all gather for Showcase 2009!

We took a lot of pictures that day, so they are broken up into two pages.

Part 2

Be Our Guest - First Half

Stacey supervised us as we set up

for the show.

We loved our new setup of arranging tables around the sides of the room so people could see and feel our rhythms as well as hear them.  Stacey even made these incredible film strips with little pictures of us for each of the tables! WOW!

Our annual raffle included some great prizes this year.  Thank you to all those who donated items and contributed to our show's success!

"On Tap: Stars and Swirls" was displayed on the back wall as our centerpiece.  It was the first time the quilt was displayed and many audience members enjoyed getting a close look at this work of art.

Bobbe and Connie greeted our guests as they arrived.

Danica getting ready for our first number.

Stacey surprised all the dancers by having us warm up to a song she uses with the kids, "The Zoo."  We got to act like all kinds of fun animals!

Stacey introducing the upcoming number, "Be Our Guest", danced by the kid's class.

They did a great job inviting us to "Be Our Guest"!

Dancing "Hit the Road Jack"

"Hit the Road Jack"

We always like to take pictures after each dance.

The audience enjoying our rhythms.

We honored one of the greatest tap dancers of all time, Bill Bo Jangles Robinson, who we consider a mentor and teacher, by dancing the song "Bill Bo Jangles"

Thank you for all you did for tap Bill Robinson!
