  Marion-Polk County Beauty Pageant

On Tap was invited to take part as one of the entertainment acts for the "Marion and Polk Country Beauty Pageant" at the Ellsinore Theatre in downtown Salem.  We worked for months on perfecting our piece, "Razzle Dazzle" and learning the dance steps for the kick-off song that all dancers and contestants were performing at the start of the show.

We loved performing on the Ellsinore stage, it was so much fun to dance in a large theatre!  We also enjoyed getting to talk with the other dance group from City Dance Theater and the eleven contestants.  Tiptoeing behind the curtains, walking in the overcrowded hallways backstage, the curtain calls, and dancing from our hearts, we loved it all!  Thank you so much to much everyone who helped us get ready and dance well.  An especially big thank you goes to Teresa who helped us immensely with costuming.

Thank you Teresa!

A Note From Stacey

"A huge round of REALLY LOUD TAPS for all the dancers (and audience supporters!) that participated in the Miss Marion Polk "Razzle Dazzle" show at the Ellsinore Theater. What proud moments. It was hard not to shout out with joy as you all danced brilliantly and sparkled your way across the stage. I hope you all had tons of fun and know how great you are. Thank you so much for all your extra time and effort for this performance. The audience loved you! Thank you to Sarah Hoggatt and Sheri Leipzig for practicing overtime to help other tappers. Thank you to Teresa Maurmann for making our costumes Razzle and Dazzle."

We took a lot of pictures that night, so they are broken up into two pages.

Hi Wendy!

Sue's daughter, Sarah, reveled in getting to apply makeup to her mom after all those horse shows where Sue had to put makeup on Sarah.

This was our first time putting on fake eyelashes for a show.  They were fun!

Teresa with her daughter Ariana.

Our class bought Stacey flowers to thank her for all her effort hard work that she puts into teaching us how to dance and enjoy life!

Stacey was really surprised!

A huge thank you also goes to Teresa who helped us with our costuming!  Thank you so much!

Stacey gave us all See's suckers and candy canes in honor of Ophelia who suggested the dance in the first place.  (She loved See's suckers.)

Bobbe and Sheri are ready to go!

Stacey and Sarah together before driving over to the theater.
